A 500KG billet handling robot for forging plant. Utilizes a Fanuc M900 700KG robot with a
200KG hydraulic actuated gripping system. Many different part programs are contained in
the control. Also supplied was a cooling and lubrication system for the Dies which
consisted of a fanuc M710 and a custom two axis programmable reciprocating spray unit for
delivery of die lubricant and water for cooling. A 150KG forging can be produced every 90
seconds. A 500KG Forging can be produced every 4 minutes. Dies are cooled from 900
degrees F to 500 degrees F in 15 seconds or less. Lubrication of Dies occurs in this 15
second time period seperate from cooling.
